Situated in the heart of the historic village of Kilmartin,
the Bothy has been recently built in traditional materials on the site of former farm
buildings. Finished to high specifications, it consists of
two self-contained units. Each unit can sleep 8 in two bedrooms with twin beds and fold
down bunks. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with electric showers. In addition, there
is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room with a bench seat that serves as an extra bed.
Pillows and duvets are provided but groups are kindly requested to bring their own bed
linen. A small quantity of bed linen may be available to hire at additional cost. Sleeping
bags are not permitted. |
|
The accommodation is fully accessible to disabled persons and there
is a separate, centrally located, disabled WC and shower. Provided with hanging rails and
dehumidifier this also serves as a drying room.
|
The units are individually
secure but internally connected and therefore suitable for mixed groups of up to 18.
The Bothy is adjacent to Kilmartin Hotel and
opposite the Heritage Museum. It is within easy walking distance of the renowned
archaeological sites and the surrounding countryside provides excellent opportunities for
the study of geology, geography and ecology. With easy access to hill, moor, river and
lochs there is also ample scope for outdoor pursuits. In conjunction with the Living
Stones Christian Fellowship whose adjacent church centre is available to visitors, The
Bothy is an ideal location for church/youth fellowship retreats. For further
